Our group is located in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Our interdisciplinary research approach integrates expertise from materials science, chemistry, physics, and neuroscience. Currently, we develop ultrasensitive optical imaging techniques, design advanced soft materials, and investigate the bio-materials interface to detect bioelectric and biochemical signals. Through our research, we aim to reveal the fundamental electrophysiological processes in brain and heart.
